Team LBS: A healthier way of life

Juan Pablo, one of our longest-serving members of staff, and keen cyclist, wakes up every morning at 5am and cycles from his home in Clapham Junction to one of our client’s offices in Central London, Trafalgar Square. He added, “To me, commuting by bike is a healthier way of life.”

He chose the healthier alternative form of travelling when he witnessed a life-changing event during the 7-7 bombings. Juan Pablo was in one of the trains that was targeted by terrorists. Since then, he has cycled to all his jobs, and has become a passionate cyclist who now sees cycling as a way of life; managing up to 100km a day at times with his London Bike Team.

We asked Juan Pablo about his long-lasting love for cycling, he said. “Cycling is healthy and environmentally friendly. It also gives you a great sense of having achieved something before you even start your working day.”

London cycling community is increasing

London has seen a surge in cycling due to the Coronavirus pandemic. With Transport for London and London Mayor preparing to rapidly expand infrastructure dedicated to cycling and walking in the capital, Juan Pablo’s rides to work will continue to become easier and safer as a commute.

The Mayor of London official website published, “Many Londoners have rediscovered the joys of walking and cycling during lockdown. By quickly and cheaply widening pavements, creating temporary cycle lanes and closing roads to through-traffic we will enable millions more people to embed this into their lives going forward. “

LBS Cleaning is an advocate of Juan Pablo’s passion. With recent health risks posed by COVID-19, cycling is arguably a healthier and safer way to commute.
